Bellary: New Anugraha School Building For Differently Abled Inaugrated

| Bellary : The newly built school building for differently abled children was inaugurated on June 29 at Bellary.
Fully funded by the Anugraha Foundation in memory of late Y. Umadevi and late Y. Mahabaleshwarappa, it is the dream project of Sri Basavaraj, Srimathi Neelamma and their family members, ably supported by the Bishop of Bellary. Gavisiddeswara Mahaswamji of Gavi Mutt, Koppal inaugurated the new building.

Readings from the holy scriptures of different religions preceded the blessing and inauguration. Bishop of Bellary Henry D’ Souza the president of Anugraha Foundation, who blessed the new school building lauded the philanthropic work of the Basawaraj family which is promoting the noble cause of service to the physically and mentally challenged children of Bellary.Bishop D’ Souza declared that Anugraha Foundation and the Anugraha School are shining symbols of inter-religious service to humanity.
The new building was inaugurated by Sri Gavisiddeswara Mahaswamiji, Karthik, Basavaraj Satish Yeachareddy, Sr. Linette, AC and other members of the Foundation, by lighting the traditional lamp, and with a short prayer- “Asathoma Satgamaya, Thamasoma Jyothirgamaya, Mirthyoma Amirthamgamaya, Ohm, Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthi…”, which means “Lord lead me from untruth to truth, darkness to light, death to life, O Lord lead us. Peace, Peace, Peace.”
Addressing the gathering the Swamiji lauded the services rendered by Sri Mahabaleshwarappa and his sons to the society, particularly in Bellary and appreciated the noble initiative such as Anugraha School."The substance of all Holy Books is to love one’s neighbour with compassion and never harm others,” quoted the Swamijii.
Addressing the gathering Sr. Linette, Provincial Superior of Apostolic Carmel thanked the architect, engineer and other labourers who worked hard to complete the building within a year. She also assured the service of the sisters of Apostolic Carmel to the differently abled children of Bellary.
Sri BL Anand Rao, Governor of Rotary District 3160, praised the services of Anugraha. “They are special children and need to be treated with love and dignity,” quoted Yeachareddy in his brief and motivating message.
The school building was designed and build in such a way to be user friendly for differently abled persons. It has 10 classrooms, 3 rooms for rehabilitation purposes, a computer lab, a media room, and an amphitheatre for 100 people. |
