Mangalore: Social Activist Louis C D'Souza Passes Away

Mangalore: Louis C D'Souza (83), Retired Manager of the District Police Office, Mangalore, passed away on Tuesday 10 July 2012, at a city hospital.

He was suffering from kidney-related ailments. D'Souza lived a remarkable life being a mentor to many a people ranging from politicians to business magnates, police constables to petty shop owners.

In his many decades of government service and public life he was regarded as an exceptional police officer who connected with the people and IPS officers alike. Post-retirement, he served as managing partner at Quality Clay Industries, a tile factory in Mangalore.

He was also a member of the Rotary Probus club. D'Souza was socially active helping needy people in any way he could.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, three sons, daughters-in law, six grand-children and a large number of admirers.

The world is left poorer by his absence.
