Caution called for
Wildlife expert Umashanker is of the opinion that wild elephants do not suddenly attack. They do so only in self-defence and when feeling threatened. They have poor eyesight but they make up with the ferocity of onslaught.
He expressed concern over the tendency of corporate employees' hobby of going on trekking without requisite permission from the forest officials. They should go with proper preparation and be accompanied by guides and escorts well-versed in much forest adventures.
