Team Mangalorean - Beltangady

Beltangady: In a suspected case of murder, the body of a woman was found thrown under a culvert near the forest checkpost, in a highly decomposed state.

The matter came to light after a woman of 60 years named Jayamma was reported missing in Honnalli in Davangere district a few days ago. A case was registered in this matter three days ago. Rs 5 lakh in cash and gold weighing 25 gms were missing from her house. It was suspected that she was murdered for money and gold and then her body was dumped in Charmady.

On suspicion, two young men, both aged 20 years and related to her, were arrested and interrogated. They are said to have confessed to the crime. They were brought to Charmady by the Honnalli police and they helped in locating the body.
