Mangalore: Tit for Tat - Gang takes Revenge on Innocent Folks

Mangalore:  In a case suspected to be related to the murder of Shivaraj, Jamaluddin and Shakeel  were assaulted by a rowdy gang at Kulai, here on July 20. 

Around 5 p.m Jamaluddin aged 25 was sitting in his petty shop "Tawakkal Stores" along with his cousin Shakeel (28). A group of five men came in a Scorpio, registation No. KA 47  4371, fully prepared with hockey sticks, soda bottles and iron rods and assaulted Shakeel.  When they were assaulting Shakeel, his cousin  Jamaluddin who was also in the shop rushed to help Shakeel , who had fallen on the ground. The gang also assaulted Jamaluddin and then fled.

According to eyewitnesses Lokesh, Dayanand, Santhosh alias Bend Santhu,  Manoj  Alias Manju and Chethan alias Chethu came to Kulai, fully prepared with the intention of assaulting Shakeel.  When Jamaluddin came to rescue Shakeel the culprits yelled at Jamaluddin saying, " Hey man, we are involved in various murders and we are not hesitating to kill you. So watch out!!"

It is learnt that all the five goons are involved in various cases,and already 15 cases have been registered against them in various police stations. 

Both Jamaluddin and shakeel after being given first aid in a near by hospital were then shifted to the Unity Hospital in Mangalore. Jamaluddin who was injured on the head, and Shakeel with injuries on his face, are said to be out of danger and recovering, according to hospital sources

It is suspected that the incident happened because of the murder of Shivaraj on July 20. Some 20 to 25 people had also assaulted Mohammed T when he was walking out from the children's ward at Wenlock Hospital this Friday afternoon. Today being Friday Mohammed was wearing white dress, and had gone to see the crowd gathered at the Wenlock Mortuary.  Mohammed is now admitted in the Highland hospital. 

A case has been registered in Surathkal police station and investigation is going on.  ACP Jagannath visited the hospital to investigate the case.
