Qatar: The 18 Gulf Incon-Metabo Floodlit Cricket Tournament 2012 was inaugurated by Ganesh Srinivasan, General Manager of Gulf Incon in presence of  Rakesh Govindan, Senior Manager – Sales & Marketing, Vimaldas, Sales Coordination Manager,  Sajjad Khan, Product Manager, Metabo,  Anil Nair,  Chidananda, General Manager, Pallonji and Committee members of the Qatar Veterans’ Cricket League.

In the first match Metabo trounced Force India by 89 runs. The Man of the Match was Shaji of Metabo. In the second match, D. C. Lagaan defeated Planet Cargo by 101 runs. Man of the Match was Aswar of DC Lagaan.

The Organizers and Sponsors are continuing with the Cricket Quiz introduced last year. There is a prize offer for the Quiz every 4 days and the Winners will receive their prizes at the Finals of the tournament scheduled for 27th September 2012. Considering the weather the organisers have scheduled one match every night except on Thursday nights when there will be 2 matches. There would be a break in the tournament for the last 10 days of Ramadan and Eid Holidays.
