Team Mangalorean Udupi

Udupi: Brahmavar Sports Club will conduct 'Bharat Celebration Cricket Tournament' at the  SMS Stadium Brahmavar, from August 11 till  August15, 2012.

Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday August 9, Brahmavar Sports Club convener  M Chandrashekar Hegde said as many as ten teams – MLA XI, DC XI, Doctors XI, Press XI, Advocate XI, P E Teachers XI, Brhamavar Sports Club XI, PUC Lecturers XI, High School Teachers XI, Superintendent Of Police XI will compete in this tourney, with the winner receiving the Bharath Celebration Trophy.

Hegde said that the tournament would be inaugurated by K Jayaprakash Hegde Member of Parliament, and Prof. K Narayanan, principal of SMS College will preside over the function.

Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi District cricket Association president Dr. Krishna Prasad, HOD of dept of Science Cambridge International School Dubai, Thomas Suares will be the chief guest during the inaugural of the tourney.

Prize distribution and valedictory ceremony will be held on August 15, evening. SMS PU College Brahmavar principal  Salvadore Noronha will preside over the valedictory programme.

Former  Syndicate Bank Cricket Player Mohammad Kasim, Industrialist Ananada C Kundar, Brahmavar Circle inspector Prabhu DT, Bharath Celebrations Bharath Kumar Shetty, will be the chief guests at the programme.

General secretary of the Brahmavar Club, Gregory D'Silva, executive member Vijayananda Shetty and Sadandanda Shetty were present at the press meet.
