Udupi : In a sad incident, Udaya Kumar Shetty (52 yrs), younger brother of former MLA Kundapur, Haladi Srinivas Shetty,   committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence here on Thursday, August 9.

Udaya Kumar Shetty was settled in Bangalore for many years.  Recently he shifted to Haladi and started to stay with his bachelor brother Haladi Srinivas Shetty. As he was not blessed with children in his marriage, he had started a nursery school in his Garden house.

On Thursday at around 5 p.m when one of his staff went to the garden house to meet Udaya Kumar Shetty,  he found Shetty who had committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. Reliable sources said that he did not have any serious problems to take this extreme step.

Udaya Kumar Shetty was not interested in politics but when his elder brother was denied ministerial berth in the present BJP government and subsequent resignation for MLA' Udayakumar was very upset. 

The shocking news that spread around, had the BJP leaders and party workers gathered in Haladi's ancestral house.  A case has been, registered in Brahmavar Police station.
