Mangalore: In a shocking incident, Urmila, wife of Padmanabha, who runs a shop and also lives in Sarvamangala building in Valencia, lost her gold chain to a snatcher right at the apartment entrance.

Urmila had just closed her shop late in the evening and was on her way home. As she was going up the staircase, a young man is said to have suddenly approached her and asked her if anyone had come there around that time.

As she turned her attention towards him, he reportedly snatched her gold chain weighing 48 grammes, valued at Rs 1.30 lakh. Then he is said to have sped away in a bike towards Gorigudda.

Upon receiving a complaint from her, the Pandeshwar police are looking for the culprit.
