Udupi: UPPA (Udupi Photographers Association) announced the winners  of the state level photography contest, “Varsha Vaibhava” on Friday August 17.
 
Prasanna Perdoor and Sudhir from Doddaballapur bagged the first and second prize respectively. Ramesh Chawan from Bijapur bagged the third prize. Ravikumar from Saligrama, Raviraj from Hejamadi and Sudhakar Yermal from Mangalore have won consolation prizes.

 
58 photographers from State had sent their 200 best clicks to the contest. Senior Journalist Eshwarayya, office bearers of UPAA Association  Astro Mohan, Janardhan Kodavoor, Hemanath Padubidri and Jayaprakash Kini  judged the contest to pick the best lens men.
 
The winners will be honoured on August 19 along with their  UPPA Awards. Arun  Mahendrakar experienced photographer of Bangalore, Astro Mohan, Senior Photojournalist of  Udayavani will conduct a workshop on Photography. Shelon Shivkumar will give training on Adobe Photoshop, an essential tool for every photographer.
 
The above two training sessions will be free of cost, those interested are requested to register their names on the venue.
 
District In-Charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojari will inaugurate the programme while MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, former MLA, UR Sabhapathi, leaders Pramod Madhwaraj and Udayakumar Shetty will be the guests. A commemoration programme on social reformer Ku Shi Haridas Bhat will also be held as part of the programme.
