Karkala: An autorickshaw in which three youngsters were transporting a ten-foot-long king cobra, which had earlier been captured, on way to be set free in the Kudremukh forest sanctuary, rolled over at Gandhinagar in Bajagoli.

Ganesh, John and Ismail were injured. They had kept the king cobra in a drum in the rickshaw. However, the reptile was unhurt but remained in hiding under the overturned vehicle.

After much effort, with the assistance of a local man Hariprasad, it was put back into the drum and later released in the forest.
