SpiceJet allays fears over smoke in Amritsar flight

New Delhi, June 30 (IANS) SpiceJet on Thursday sought to allay concerns over some incident involving its flight to Amritsar from Delhi and said there was neither any tyre burst, nor a fire on board the aircraft.

“All passengers on board are safe,” a spokesperson for the airline said in a statement, adding all the 75 guests on board are safe.

“The engineer on ground saw smoke coming out from the right landing gear. Taking a precautionary measure, he used fire extinguisher on over heated landing gear,” the spokesperson said.

“No incident of fire or tyre burst took place.”
