I am staying at Dortmund: Striker Aubameyang

Dortmund, Jan 8 (IANS) Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Friday said he will not be leaving the German football club in the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old was awarded the Confederation of African Football’s Player of the Year award on Thursday. He beat Ivorian Yaya Toure to clinch the honour.

The Gabonese striker has been heavily linked to a move in the English Premier League.

“I am staying at Dortmund. I am so happy,” Aubameyang was quoted as saying by the BBC.

He has scored 18 goals in 17 Bundesliga games this season and a total of 68 goals in 119 games since being signed by then-manager Jurgen Klopp from French outfit St Etienne in 2013.
