It points out that unskilled and untrained security personnel have been posted for security at the temple and around. Their number is just nominal and they are not capable of effectively handling the volume of crowds seen day after day.

The present security staff have been outsourced from agencies. Destructive and sabotage elements can create trouble anytime in the present situation, says the forum headed by Shivakumar Kamath as president and Harish Injadi as convener.

The number of pickpocketing and thefts has alarmingly increased in the recent past. The CCTV system installed also is of low quality. They have further said that people staying in lodges are allowed to check in without verifying their full details, address and documents.

In general, the security aspects should undergo a serious review, they have demanded.
