Subrahmanya: High-tension Power Pole Falls on Bus – Coated Cable Prevents Casualty

Subrahmanya: In a freak incident, a high-tension electric pole fell over a moving bus on Friday around noon.

The private bus was on its way to the bus-stand on the bypass. Near the Kashikatte circle, a cable hanging loose from the electric pole got entangled with the top of the bus.

The strong cable dragged the pole out of its position, resulting in its breaking into two and the upper half falling over the bus.

Fortunately, it was a coated cable which allowed no electric flow upon contact. The bus had no passengers and had only the driver in it.
