Sullia: Anganwadi Staffer from Brahmavar Dies as Vehicle Rolls over at Arantodu

Sullia: Lalita Hebbar (32), an anganwadi worker serving at Sastan in Brahmavar in Udupi district, died in a road mishap that took place at Arantodu between here and Sampaje on Sunday evening.

She and a few family members were on a pilgrimage tour. After visiting Dharmasthala, Subrahmanya, Bhagamandala and Talacauvery, they were on their way back. As a cow suddenly crossed the road near Adkabale complex in Arantodu, the driver suddenly swerved to a side, which led to the toppling of the vehicle.

Lalita sustained fatal injuries and is said to have died on the spot. Achyuta, who was driving the vehicle, sustained head injuries. After initial treatment in the government hospital here, he was taken to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

The Sullia police have registered a case.
