Sullia: Bike-rider from Haveri Dies after Hitting Bridge near Kallugundi – Co-rider Injured

Sullia: A motorbike hit the barricade of the Kadapala bridge near Kallugundi on the Sampaje ghat highway on Saturday night.

Gangadhar from Savanur of Haveri district who was riding the bike died on the way to the hospital, while the pillion-rider Mallikarjun from Basavapura of Gadag district was severely injured.

When no one was coming forth to shift the injured, a local entrepreneur, Sirajuddin of Karavali Rubbers took the initiative of taking them in his car to the government hospital in Sullia.

Gangadhar had already died on the way. Mallikarjun is said to be recovering in the same hospital. They both had arrived in Sullia six years ago and were engaged in concrete shuttering work.

They were on their way to Bengaluru to visit their relatives.
