Sullia: Driver of Sand-laden Lorry Abuses Officials Checking Unauthorized Transport

Sullia: Officials from the department of mining and geology asked a lorry laden with sand at Anegundi on the Mani-Mysuru state highway earlier this week. It was plying towards Madikeri direction.

When the lorry was not stopped by the driver, it was certain that it was transporting sand without authorization. It was given a hot chase and was blocked at Paichar on the outskirts of Sullia.

He driver is said to have verbally abused the officials and even gave a threat to life. The police were informed and a case relating to obstruction to duty of the officials was registered against G K Abdul Razaq, the said driver.
