Sullia Police Arrest Youth in Chain Snatching Case
Mangaluru: The Sullia Police have arrested a youth in connection with a chain snatching case in Sullia here, on July 10.
The arrested has been identified as Dilip (19), a resident of Madappadi Grama, Sullia.
According to the police, on July 4 at around 10:15 am, Asha Shetty (22), who had gone to the Shri Venkataramana temple, while removing her sandals to enter the temple to seek God’s blessings, an unidentified man in a motorbike snatched the chain from Asha’s neck and fled from the spot.
In this regard a case was filed in the Sullia police station and a special team was also formed under the leadership of Sullia circle inspector. On July 10, Dilip was arrested in Sullia. They also seized the motorbike that was used for the crime. The gold chain worth Rs 24,000 was also recovered from a jewellery shop where he had sold.
