Sullia: Three Arrested for Hunting Endangered Species of Wildlife in Reserve Forest

Sullia: Forest officials from Puttur caught three persons engaged in hunting in a forest near Jalsur and seized two hunted animals in it on Wednesday night.

They had hunted a wild cat and a civet cat in the Kamanaballi reserve forest and placed them in a jeep used by them. A gun and the jeep used for the act have also been seized.

The arrested persons are Suresh and Purushottam from Peraje in Kodagu and Ritish from Arantodu in Sullia taluk. Another, identified as Dinesh, managed to escape during the raid.

They were produced in Sullia court and remanded to judicial custody.
