In his message Pramod Madhwaraj said that teachers play a prominent role in shaping the career and life of the students. Teaching is a noble profession and it is also a service of giving knowledge to students and developing them into good citizens. Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts have been in the forefront in all fields including education and health compared to other districts in Karnataka. One of the main reasons for this excellence in education has been the contribution of the Teachers.

In all fields of Human Development Index, once again the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts have scored high points and all the panchayats in these two districts have been above average. This has been mainly because of the progress in education and spread of literacy for which he complimented all the teachers. The selfless service of the teachers in educating young minds of the district has made us proud, he added.
