Team SWAK bags Ladies Cricket League Season 1 Trophy in Kuwait

 

Kuwait: The much awaited Ladies Cricket League Season 1 organized by LCL Committee held at Agility ground Kuwait recently turned to be a motivational and inspiration to many Ladies & family members. 5 teams ABBASIYA FRIENDS, CANARA XI, LOURDS, SWAK and QUEENS XI, participated in this ladies tournament with the registration of 70 players.

In the FINAL match, team LOURDS won the toss and elected to Bat scoring 47 runs / 6 wickets in 5 overs. Team SWAK did not let down their mentor in spite of their bad start at the tournament & scored 48 runs/ 1 wickets in 3.2 overs and became WINNERS of LCL Season 1 tournament lead by their Capt Rosita Fernandez. “LOURDES” became the RUNNER UP and ABBASIYA FRIENDS as 2nd RUNNER UP.

Glenda Menezes from Queens X1 team played an extraordinary knock with 193 Runs with 2 half centuries 3 wickets in 4 leagues declared the Best batsman and Player of the series.

Flavia D’mello from Lourdes team declared the best bowler with 8 wickets in her basket.

LCL committee would like to convey their appreciation to the Co- Sponsorer of the event Avanti Palace, DEWALT and EVENTS Q8 for their trust and support to materialize this event.

LC committee would also like to specially thank Alban (SWAK President) for capturing the complete event, Varun for hosting the tournament & Live Commentary, the Umpires Antony Fernandez, Malcolm Menezes, Antoni Barretto & Vijay Fernandez.

Guest of honor of the events were Fr Balany Pinto (Salmiya Parish Priest), Maria Rina D’Souza (KCWA President), Mariam Hyder & Amna Sheriff (Kuwait National Team).

Before the sign off of the day Dinesh D’Silva, committee member announced LCL will come up with a Mega Tournament mid of summer 2019.
