Teenager Zamiruddin Dies in Collision of Two-wheelers at Uchila

Udupi: Zamiruddin (16) from Malanguli in Belapu in the taluk died of injuries sustained in a collision of two two-wheelers near Uchila Mahalakshmi temple.

On Sunday, he was pillion-riding in a Scooty with Shamsuddin from Uchila towards Padubidri. A bike came from the opposite direction, in violation of one-way restrictions. Both vehicles had a head-on collision.


Critically injured, Zamiruddin was admitted to a private hospital in Udupi. But he succumbed to the injuries on Monday, May 2.

He was the only son of his father who operates an autorickshaw and mother who does tailoring at home. He was a student of PUC and had begun working in a shop in Kaup for extra earnings.

Since Sunday was a holiday, he joined his friend on his way to Padubidri. A case has been registered in Padubidri police station.
