Telangana making efforts to bring slain student’ body from US

Hyderabad, (IANS) The Telangana government on Monday requested the external affairs ministry to take necessary steps to transport to Hyderabad the body of a student shot dead in the United States.

A.Sai Kiran, a student from Hyderabad pursuing his MS, was shot dead by unidentified people in Miami, Florida on Sunday.

Chief Minister K.Chandrashekhar Rao expressed his condolences to the family members of Sai Kiran (22).

In a statement here on Monday, the chief minister said that with Sai’s death, Telangana has lost one of the bright students.

The chief secretary requested the Indian consulate to take necessary steps for transportation of dead body from Florida at the earliest.

According to information reaching Sai Kiran’s family here, he was standing near his apartment when some unidentified people shot him dead after he resisted their attempts to snatch his iPhone.
