According to Medical Findings- Overweight and lesser movements are the biggest threat in keeping human body fit. Just by making a slight change in the daily routine, one can achieve the basic body fitness. This can be achieved by boosting the activities by another 10 percent. Fitness doesn’t mean all the time running and jogging. In a day, one should cover 10,000 steps is a general norm. This can be achieved by making a 10 Minutes Treadmill run thrice in a day! One can do it while other family members are shopping in the City Centre Mall. 10,000 Steps a day is a very popular initiative in the United States! Yes, you can do it, if you make up your mind!
Interacting with the media persons, Enrico Piperno sharing his views on Fitness and Quality of Life said, ” A person who is physically fit is capable of living life to its fullest extent. Physical and mental fitness together play very important roles in our lives and people who are both, physically and mentally fit are less prone to medical conditions as well. People who are physically and mentally fit are also are able to maintain their most optimum weight. Although I have traveled all over India, but never played in Mangaluru. Looking at the present Mangaluru, I can say that there is lot of scope and potential for sports. Only thing is that the youth need some encouragement and support from their parents, elders and their teachers/lecturers.”
He further said, ” These days youth are busy playing with their electronic gadgets, and involving in many social activities. Along with these hobbies, they should also take up sports, which will keep them busy, fit and healthy. Not only sports keeps you physically fit, it can fetch you good jobs in good companies. There are thousands and thousands of sportsmen who got hired through sports quota in airlines, railways, other private sectors and are making big bucks than others. There is always a future in sports. I am also a lucky one who has made great achievements in life, just because of my involvement and liking for sports. You too can do it. Start taking up any kind of sport right away, and make a difference in your health and life. And now you have HAMSmart- a Space for Sports & Fitness Initiatives, which welcomes the youth to join hands with them in promotion of sports, and people in sports arena can partner with them for Sports Initiatives”.
Wing Cdr. and Former Ranji Cricket player, Arijit Ghosh also addressing the gathering said, ” Winning is not important in a sport, but participating and trying to win is important. Playing in a sport is a gift in your life. Life will surely be a boring, if you sit at home and do nothing, instead get up, involve yourself in co-curricular activities, or best way is to make sports your hobby. By doing that you can keep yourself busy, fit and healthy. Playing a sport is a great workout for the body as it improves breathing while working the muscles in the body. It drastically improves your endurance, strength, stamina and helps build lean muscles. Besides for some people it is more engaging and exciting than going to a gym. When the aim is to stay fit, you can do it in any way you like and are comfortable with. If you are not the type who likes to pump it in the gym or go running in the park, why not join a sports club and delve into your favorite sport. So, play sports for exercise, stay fit and have fun”.
Keeping sports, fitness and health in mind, HAMSmart has also initiated another program named as “Mission 50 World Class TV Anchors”, a initiative headed by P. A. Jose, former GM (HRD) of ONGC – MRPL and this program will also give opportunities for beginners to improve their Communication Skills and Anchoring Skills. Selected 50 will be given with rigorous training and practices! This is a dream project that needs support from every segment of the society including the leading institutions in Mangaluru.
Speaking to Team Mangalorean, PA Jose said, “Communication skill is the prime skill everyone should have irrespective of the specialization that they choose. Unfortunately, even in many degree programs we find absence of communication. Engineers, Doctors, Nurses, MBAs and every other who come out from the campuses need communication skills. The people who are good in communication skills get jobs and promotions comfortably. Since curriculum doesn’t have it; One need to get it outside! Starting from basic Communication Modules, Mission 50 World Class TV Anchors aims to train and develop 50 World Class TV Anchors! This will be done with the help of an overall coaching package that includes Scientific Interventions and rigorous training”.
