Theft of Rs 1.65 Lakh from Jeppinamogaru House

Mangaluru: A house in Jeppinamogaru on the southern outskirts was broken into on Saturday night when the owners was away.

Sandhya Nayak, living near the cooperative society in Jeppinamogaru, had locked her house on Saturday evening and gone to her elder sister’s house in Hoige Bazar.

When she returned home around 10 am on Sunday, she found the house open. It appears the miscreants had made sure that no one was present in the house and made the break-in.

The whole house was found rummaged for the sake of finding cash and valuables. Things were found strewn all over.

On first information, gold ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh, silverware worth Rs 50,000 and Rs 15,000 in cash were found missing. Fingerprint experts have investigated the case.

A case has been registered in the rural police station in Maroli.
