Thieves Break into House, Leave behind 30 Sovereign Gold by Oversight

Udupi: Oversight can prove costly. But in a curious case, it was a blessing for a house-owner and a kind of loss to the thieves.

Ravivarma Rao of Belmar in Aroor village had locked his house and gone out with his family on Tuesday.

During their absence, miscreants broke into the house through the toilet door and got access into the house.

They rummaged the whole house and even broke open a steel wardrobe.

In spite of searching all over it for valuables, gold jewellery worth 30 sovereign is said to have missed their eyes and remained intact.

In fact, they went back empty-handed.

However, a case has been registered in the Brahmavar police station.
