Tihar jail escape: Absconding inmate held in UP

New Delhi (IANS) Three days after his escape from the high security Tihar jail, Delhi Police’s special cell on Tuesday evening arrested one of the absconding inmates from Uttar Pradesh.

Javed, 18, was arrested from Gonda district.

“Javed was arrested from the house of one of his relatives. He is being taken back to Delhi,” said a police official.

He along with 19-year-old Faizan had fled from jail No.7 on Saturday morning.

Faizan was caught by the jail security staff from a drain near the jail’s outer periphery while Javed managed to flee.
