Two Held for Withdrawing money from Lost ATM card

Kasaragod: Two persons have been arrested in connection with swiping an ATM card, which they had found in a private bus here on October 19.

The arrested have been identified as Vinod and Irfan. Vinod was working as a cleaner in the Kanhangad – Panathur bus.

On October 11, Satidevi from Murundakara Bedadka lost her ATM card which Vinod and Irfan found on the bus. Later they withdrew Rs 39,000 using Satidevi’s card from an ATM kiosk.

Satidevi received the message on her mobile about the money being withdrawn from her account, immediately Satidevi filed a complaint in the Bedadka police station. The Bedadka police through the CCTV footage collected necessary information of the money being withdrawn from the ATM using Satidevi’s card.

Vinod and Irfan were arrested by the police, during investigation both agreed that they had withdrawn Rs 20,000 and Rs 19,000 respectively.

Irfan was involved in various theft cases, 8 bike theft cases have registered against him in the Kanhangad and Payyannur police stations.
