Two soldiers injured in LoC gunfight with militants

Srinagar, March 3 (IANS) Two soldiers were injured on Thursday in an ongoing operation against separatist guerrillas near the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said.

The soldiers were injured in an ongoing operation in Keran sector of the LoC, police sources told IANS.

“The operation against militants is going on well within our side of the LoC. Firing exchanges are still on,” the source said.

There has been no official confirmation so far whether the guerrillas engaged in the gunfight had recently infiltrated into the Kashmir Valley or were part of an existing group here.
