Udupi: 87-year-old Tenkapalke Shirva Resident Complains of Assault by Police to SP

Udupi: Sylvester Lobo (87), a resident of Tenkapalke in Shirva in the district, has filed a complaint to district’s superintendent of police Annamalai about an assault on him by the police.

Lobo has alleged in his complaint that Shirva sub inspector Johnson and his five men arrived at his house on Tuesday.

They are said to have broken the door of the house, dragged Lobo to the road and made a severe assault on him.

On Saturday, the police reportedly pressured him into withdrawing his complaint to the SP, said informed sources.
