Udupi: BJP fields Kota Shrinivas Poojary candidate for MLC election – Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde‏

Udupi: Bharatiya Janatha Party will be fielding 2 times MLC Kota Shrinivas Poojary in the coming MLC elections scheduled on 27 December 2015 said Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, District BJP President. He was addressing a press meet at the BJP office, Udupi here on November 26.

Kota Shrinivas Poojary has collectively worked towards the development of local bodies. BJP units of the twin districts Udupi and Dakshina Kannada will be working on winning their candidate.

The BJP is gearing up for the upcoming polls for the local bodies. 1078 booth committees are replaced with standing committees. 116 ward committees are also formed. A training programme for selected party workers of Udupi district is organised in Koteshwar. This residential programme will commence from November 27. The three day programme will have Prahalad Joshi, State BJP President and B.S Yedyurappa, former CM and the BJP National President as key speakers. Kota Shrinivas Poojary said that the legislative assembly has played prominent part to amend the Panchayat Raj Act. Government has accepted 67 amendments out of 88.

A booklet containing information on the programmes formulated by the BJP led NDA government in the centre was released by Kota Shrinivas Poojary.

Kuthyar Naveen Shetty, Geethanjali Suvarna, Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde and others were present.
