Udupi: Body of Ramesh Karkera who Drowned at Kaup Fished out

Udupi: A persistent operation by expert divers Shivaji Kotian Kaup, Harish Karkera, Sadanand and Soori Shetty, joined by others, succeeded in extracting the boy of Ramesh Karkera (47), a resident of Kaup Padu, who had drowned on Sunday morning.

The tragedy had taken place near the Kaup lighthouse, where he had gone to catch fish with a native net, while trying to float on an inflated tube of a vehicle tyre.

The body could not be traced the same day.

A case has been registered at the Kaup police station.
