Udupi: Death toll Rises to 2 in Kumta LPG Tanker Mishap

Udupi: Another victim of the Kumta tanker accident succumbed to burn injuries here on September 2, taking the death count to two.

Of the 14 who were brought to the Kasturba Hospital here on September 1, one died on the same day. Seven patients with over 50 per cent burns are still critical according to the doctors attending them.

The condition of the other five is stable, including the driver of the LPG tanker. The driver, who suffered a fracture of the right leg, underwent surgery and is improving. Of the five who are stable, two patients have been shifted to the ward from the Burns ICU.
