Udupi: Duo Robs Stranded Passenger by Offering Lift up to Kundapur

Udupi: Different kinds of incidents are reported these days that even genuine persons who would offer help others would not be trusted.

Shashidhar Shetty (49), hailing from Mairmadi of Kadangodu in Hosur village had arrived here by an afternoon bus from Bengaluru which plied on the Shivamogga route around 9-30 pm on Aug 28. Having found no bus available to his native place, he was waiting in the service bus stand.

Two strangers reportedly arrived there and told him that they too were going by car to Kundapur, therefore he could join him. Shetty accepted the offer and got into their car. Somewhere halfway during the journey, one of them is said to have hit him on the head.

After robbing him of his mobile phone, a bag and Rs 15,700 in cash, they pushed him out of the car at a remote place surrounded by forests and sped away.

He has filed a complaint at the Udupi town police station.
