Udupi: Former DCM Ashok Felicitates BJP Supported GP members

Udupi: The winning of BJP supported candidates in gram panchayat elections in the coastal districts is the prelude of BJP’s victory in the next legislative assembly polls said R Ashok former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka. He was speaking after felicitating BJP supported winning candidates in the gram panchayat elections organised by rural BJP, Bramhavar here on July 27.

The gram panchayat plays a prominent role in enhancing leadership qualities of people, they are also the centres for promoting national leadership. The Congress government has set back the developmental works in the state. The chief minister is busy dreaming while the people are suffering. The people have stopped consuming food grains distributed under Annabhagya scheme due to poor quality. The government has also stopped the subsidy on milk production.

Serial suicide cases of farmers have projected the State in bad light. Congress Vice-President is touring Andhra Pradesh but he cannot witness the plight of poor farmers. The chief minister along with the Lokayukta is fooling the people of the state. The government is slowing the process of amendment to Lokayukta Act which indicates that the government is protecting the Lokayukta.

The Supreme Court and High Court have given the ruling to conduct BBMP elections after imposing fines on the government but the government is still trying its best to postpone the elections.

MLA’s of the Congress have lost faith on the Chief Minister. The Ministers and MLA’s are busy in sand mining. The BJP is focusing on the forth coming ZP, TP and Legislative council elections, he added.

Raghupati Bhat in his keynote address said that the poor governance strategies of Congress government have destroyed the state. The Udupi district has suffered the worst. Due to the careless attitude of the Udupi MLA towards his constituency all major projects have been stalled. Lack of availability of sand due to the ban on sand mining has stalled developmental programmes but the District in-charge Minister and Congress MLA’s are not bothered about it. The University centre which was to be established in Kolalgiri has been set-up in Belapu for which Pramod Madhwaraj is solely responsible for. The weak governance of Congress led to BJP’s victory in the GP elections, he added.

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, former MLC Monappa Bhandary, MLA Sunil Kumar, district BJP Chief Thingale Vikaramarjuna Hegde, Uday Kumar Shetty, Yaspal Suvarna, Karje Balakrishna Shetty, Shymala Kunder and others were present.
