Udupi: “Dear Prime Minister Narendra Modi, break your silence on terror activities rather than supporting terror influencing actor Salman Khan,” said, Sri Ram Sene (SRS) leader Gangadhar Kulkarni. He was addressing the protesters at a protest meet organized by SRS against the statements of Salman Khan and Akbaruddin Owaisi supporting Yakub Memon in front of the Clock Tower here, on July 27.
Gangadhar further said, “Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Akbaruddin Owaisi, Ram Jethmalani and others who have supported terrorists should be punished, they should be hanged along with Yakub Memon.”
“Today, terrorists are not promoting terror activities from Pakistan or other countries, but they are born amidst us and betray us often. Salman should go to Pakistan or Afghanistan if he wants to promote terror by supporting terrorists,” he added.
“We will not allow the screening of Salman Khan’s films till he apologizes to the people of India.” He insinuated that Dawood Ibrahim is behind the success of Salman Khan as he invests money in Salman Khan’s films.
He also said that the central government should soon intervene this issue and initiate action on Salman Khan and others who are promoting terror in the country.
Hitting hard on the state Congress government, SRS leader Pramod Muthalik, who has been restricted to participate in the protest by the district administration, said that the government is trying to derail the movements of Hindu organizations. He also said that he has been restricted from participating in public programmes in the district, which he would eventually challenge in the court of law.
“Salman Khan, Shatrughan Sinha, Akbaruddin Owaisi and Ram Jethmalani should be hanged along with Yakub Memon for supporting a terrorist. Salman Khan has been honored by the country and if he still decides to support terror, he should be prosecuted.” He also said that Akbaruddin Owaisi should be suspended from parliament.
Later, effigies of Salman Khan and Akbaruddin Owaisi were burnt by SRS activists.
Mahesh Koppa, Mohan Bhat, Basavaraj Boodihal, Shyamprasd, Sandeep, Deepak and others were present.
