  1. Dear Mr. Pramod,

Yes, it is easy to make a Statement: Very important to eat fish,
but do you know the price of fish that is caught and supplied in
    plenty in Malpe?

Unfortunately, the cost of fish in Malpe and Udupi is more costly
than Mutton! Imagine a Rs.500.- a Kilo for Seer Fish (King Fish or
Angel as the locals call it), Rs.600.- a Kilo for Black Pompfret, and
Rs.1000.- for a Kilo of Milk Fish or Kane and Rs.100.- for 5 Mackeral
    Fish or Bangde.

These exaggerated prices are due to lack of check on prices and the
on the export of good quality and big size fish to Goa, Kerala, Bangalore,
Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. Hundreds of Trucks packed with
boxes of fresh fish leave Malpe Fishing Harbour every morning and
evening. Even the local hoteliers sell a single piece of Seer Fish (Angel)
and a single Milk Fish (Kane) for Rs.200.- in a Restaurant.

Why can’t you ban or limit the senseless export of our local Fish to
neighbouring States and to the Gulf, as they too have a Sea and
plenty of Fish, so that the local people of South Karnataka, and the people
of North Karnataka can easily afford and eat Fish, which is the staple food
    in Karnataka.
