Udupi: Cattle Trafficking – SP forms Special team, Two Arrested

Udupi: The Brahmavar police team led by PSI Ananathapadmanabha K V seized 10 buffaloes after acting on a complaint received from the public at Barkur in front of Sneha Bar here, on August 27.

The police detained Jainulla Abeed (27) and Abdul A (41), residents of Kasaragod, Kerala.

According to the police, cattle trafficking has been going on in the Kokkarne to Udupi route. The PSI and his team stopped a truck near Barkur Sneha Bar. They found 10 buffaloes inside the truck and received information from individuals transporting cattle that the cattle was being taken to Kerala for slaughter. The police took the 10 buffaloes and the truck into their possession.

In the meantime, the district police formed a special team to curb cattle trafficking across the district. A press release issued by Annamalai K, Superintendent of Police Udupi district, stated that several cases of cattle trafficking have been reported from the district. The SP appealed to the public to inform the nearest police station if they come across such cases. The public can call the district control room at 100 or 0820-2526444.

    Great!! Why focus on higher education or decent jobs when you can show your talent in stealing cattle or smuggling gold from gulf? I wonder what % of youth from peaceful community in Kasaragodu have criminal records? Some self-respecting journalist should look into this and do a report. It will probably open the eyes of minority leaders and force them to do something before this cancer of crime completely destroys their community.
