Udupi: Karnataka Karmikara Vedike to Hold Labourers’ Convention and Karnataka Rajyothsava Celebration on Nov 29

Udupi: The Karnataka Karmikara Vedike unit of the district is organising a Labourers’ Convention along with the Karnataka Rajyothsava celebration on November 29 at the MGM College Ground, Kadiyali,” said Ravi Shetty, president of the Vedike.

Addressing the mediapersons at a press meet held at the Press Club on November 13, he said that the convention is being organised to create awareness among labourers. During the day long celebrations, an Udyoga Mela, Registration of the Labourers, Free Ambulance facility inauguration, Agricultural information, Kavigoshti and Pradhanmanthi Bhima Yojana card distributions will be the main attractions of the convention. Over 100 industries in the small and medium scale categories and a host of placement agencies are scheduled to participate in the event.

Housekeeping, security, teachers, tailors, helpers, drivers, technicians, nurses, sales and marketing executives, DTP/data entry operators, call centres/BPO executives, software and hardware engineers are some of the jobs available for candidates at the mela.

State ministers and prominent personalities will be invited for the programme. In the morning of November 29, a flag hoisting, inauguration of Udyoga Mela and convention will be organised. A poets meet will be held from 11 am to 1 pm. Cultural programmes including dance, skits etc will enthral the audience.

On the occasion of Kannada Rajyothsava, the Karnataka Karmikara Vedike will present Karnataka Rajyothsava awards to achievers in different fields. The Karnataka Rajyothsava awardees are Shivanna Ambale (Veeragase), Sripathi Hegde Hakladi Kundapur (Senior Journalist), Radha Udupi (Retired teacher), Veeranna Kuruvatthi Gowdar Haveri (Poet), Sadashiva Shetty Shivamogga (Farmer), Gururaj Sanil Santhekatte (Snake Specialist), Soori Shetty Kaup, Ravi Katapadi, Nithyananda Volakadu, Udaykumar Shetty Kidiyoor (Social Service), Neelavara Surendra Adiga, Uday Kumar Shetty Inna, Gopal Shetty Bengaluru, Raghavendra Rao Bengaluru.

Documents required for Udyoga Mela: Self Document (10 Copies), Passport size Photos (10 Copies), Marks Cards Xerox (10 Copies). There is no registration fee for Udyoga mela, but candidates need to obtain membership in the Karnataka Karmikara Vedike, he said.

Chandrika Shetty Women’s wing president, Suresh Serigar, Ravi Shastri and Praveen Hiriyadka were present in the press meet.
