Udupi: Krishnapur Math’s Vidyasagaratheertha Swamiji inaugurates ‘Go Sammelan’ office

Udupi: Awareness should be created among youngsters on the importance of cows and for the same a ‘Go Sammelan’ has been organised, said Shri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Kaniyoor Math. He was speaking after the inauguration of the office of Go Sammelan (Cow Conference) in Kaniyoor Math, here on August 28.

The cow is treated like a mother in our culture. The benefits from rearing cows are numerous. We want milk from cow but when it turns old, we sell them. Youth should be educated on the benefits of cow. The Go Sammelan aims at sensitising youth to rear cows in their homes, he said.

Shri Vidyasagaratheertha Swamiji of Krishnapur Math inaugurated the Go Sammelan office by lighting the lamp.

The Go Sammelan will be held from October 4-7 at the Sri Krishna Math premises. Seminars and discussions on the significance of the cow and the utility values of its products through different art forms, recitation of cow related prayers and discourses on cows will be held during the convention.

Go Sammelan convener Sunil Mansingh of Govigyan Anusandan center Nagpur, K M Udupa, CMC Councillor Shyamprasad Kudwa, Balaji Raghavendra Acharya, Vasudev Bhat and others were present.
