Udupi: Pejawar Swamiji Denies Role in Attempt to Get SP Annamalai Transferred

Udupi: Rumours have been rife regarding a possible transfer of the popular superintendent of police, Annamalai, during the past few days, although there is no official indication anywhere.

Among all, the name of Shri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of the Pejawar Math is being heard prominently. The Math secretary, in a media release, has clarified that the Swamiji had nothing to do with the developments. The Swamiji has been pained by the linking of his name to the episode.

He has also clarified that he had not tried, either in direct or indirect way, to get the transfer effected, nor has he tried to wield any influence in the matter.

He has no displeasure about the SP, who, he says, has been very cooperative when needed. Hence it is totally a baseless report that the Swamiji is involved in the attempts, says the release.
