Udupi: Prasad Nethralaya to introduce first Visumax Femtosecond Laser Bladeless LASIK and SMILE Machine

Udupi: The Prasad Nethralaya is organizing the inaugural ceremony of state of the art equipment and world’s best technology in the field of refractive technology on October 2.

Addressing the mediapersons medical director Dr Krishna Prasad said that the equipment Visumax Femtosecond Laser System costs nearly Rs 4.5 crore, which he receives at 40 percent concession. He added that the operation cost is around Rs 90000 for patients in Udupi. However, the amount charged for the patients at Bangaluru is Rs 1.20 lakh. The treatment cost is very less compared to the operation cost in other areas. There are nearly 11 equipments in India.

He further said that the Visumax Femtosecond Laser System will be inaugurated by the Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader. The Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake will inaugurate the Pressbyond LBV, for the treatment of presbyopia. Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes will inaugurate the Lasik work up station. Former member of Indian Cricket team Padmashri Syed Krimani will inaugurate the Lasik Lounge while Shobha Karandlaje MP of Udupi Chikkamagaluru will be lighting the lamp. Pramod Madhwaraj MLA of Udupi will preside over the programme.

K Jayaprakash Hegde Ex-MP of Udupi Chikkamagluru, Raghupathi Bhat Ex-MLA Udupi, Yaspal Suvarna president Udupi and DK Fish Marketing Federation, Arun Shetty Divisional Manager, Carl Zeiss, India, Raghuram Rao Director Prasad Nethralaya will also take part in the inaugural ceremony.

Dr Vikram Jain medical director of Prasad Nethralaya Mangaluru, Dr Madhulup Acharya, Marketing Head Abdul Khader were also present in the press meet.
