Udupi: Restaurateur Pradeep Shetty from Manoor Riding in Pillion Dies in Bike Mishap

Udupi: Pradeep Shetty of Kota Manoor, who was in the pillion on a motorcycle which his friend Suresh was riding met with a mishap on Aug 23.


The motorcyle first hit a pedestrian, Yakshagana artiste Nidle Govinda Bhat, who was severely injured. The motorbike fell to the ground. Shetty who was in the pillion suffered grievous injuries. Although he was rushed to a hospital in Manipal, he died there after some time.

Bhat was also shifted to Manipal hospital. He is said to be recovering.

Shetty had worked abroad for some years and had recently began restaurant business. He owned Aditya restaurant in Tekkatte and was a partner in Indraprastha restaurant.

The mishap was caused by a stone which was left behind by the driver of a car which had broken down at the spot a few days ago. The stone is said to have hit Shetty’s head.
