Udupi: Sarvajanika Ganeshotshav Samiti Holds ‘Kesard Onji Dina’

Udupi: The slushy fields of Alevoor witnessed a high energy sports event ‘Kesard Onji Dina’ organised by Sarvajanika Ganeshotshav Samiti here, on July 12.

The sports event was jointly organised by the Udupi Zilla Panchayat, Sports and Youth Affairs and Lions Club 317C District along with Sarvajanika Ganeshotshav Samithi of Alevoor.

The event was inaugurated by Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and Minister in-charge District.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Kumar Sorake said that India is an agriculture-centered nation. “Our ancestors earned their daily bread through cultivation. These days, we rely on spas and saloons for mud bath but farmers remain healthy by ploughing the fields,” he added.

Karthik Shetty of Sarvajanika Ganeshotshav Samiti said that they have been organising ‘Kesard Onji Dina’ from the past 10 years and the participants have been increasing over the years.

Director and actor Rakshit Shetty, Dr Roshan Kumar Shetty (Deputy Director Sports and Youth Affairs), Alevoor Gram Panchayat President Srikanth Nayak, TP member Praveen Shetty, Lion District 317C Governor Shridhar Shenav, Alevoor Doddamane Shridhar Shetty, Alevoor Harish Kini, Sarvajanika Ganeshotshav Samithi President Manjesh Kumar, Alevoor Rajesh Shetty and others were present.

  1. Looks like fun. I have a feeling that some cameras got ruined and some of these guys returned home with skin rashes!! LOL
