Udupi: “The Government of Karnataka in the 2015-16 budget has allocated rupees 1,37,000 crore. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who also holds the finance portfolio should declare the finances allocated for various development works proposed in the budget,” said Shobha Karandlaje, MP of Udupi-Chikmagalur LS constituency. She was speaking at a press meet held at the BJP office here, on December 28.

“People now regret voting for the Congress. The Government has not initiated any developmental work in the drought affected areas. The GOI had announced rupees 1,540 crore for the drought affected areas but the government in Karnataka has not stated any developmental work. The funds allocated under NDRF has not been effectively utilised by the government. The government has not allocated any funds to the ZP and district administration for the supply of drinking water.”

She further said that the people will give a befitting reply for the irregularities of the government in the coming ZP and TP polls. “The government will witness a major setback in the MLC elections. The GOI has released rupees 6.5 crore for dredging work in Malpe and Kodi Kanyana Bunder but the GOK has not initiated any tender process.”

The GOK is not submitting any memorandum for allocation of funds. The state government should initiate a survey process for identifying physically handicapped and the central government will provide necessary assistance.

Through the Skill Development programmes implemented in Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Crossland College, Vidyaniketan School and Nitte College, the recruitment of 80% of the candidates has been facilitated.

She also said that the toll gates will not be opened till the work on the National Highway is completed. “The toll gate will not be allowed to function till December 2016.”

Sharada Bijoor, former Zilla Panchayat vice-president from Indian National Congress Party, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on the occasion.

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde – district BJP chief, Shyamala Kundar – state BJP secretary, Sheela K Shetty – District Women Cell president, Yaspal Suvarna, Githanjali Suvarna and others were present.

  1. Shobha Karandlaje demands white paper on development works in state-Reports.

    Dear readers,

As a part of ‘Good governance’ ,is she have courtesy to release white paper in her own constituency in last 18 months?

Other than steep rise in communal tensions in the district, there are no visible development.

Will our Honourable MP list the achievements which has reached to the needy citizens?

    Jai Hind
