Udupi: St. Mary’s English School celebrates World Environment Day

Udupi: The students of St. Mary’s English School celebrated World Environment Day in a special way on June 5.

Early morning some students and teachers went to the Malpe beach and created a sand art to create awareness among the public “Greener Earth Safer Tomorrow”

In the school students were created indigenous paper bags and appealing greeting cards with awareness messages. Later in the afternoon they went in a procession through Balaji Layout and distributed the cards to the residents and paper-bags to the shop-keepers.

The students contributed in their own way to the noble cause. The programme was organized under the leadership of the Principal Myrtle LF Lewis.

World environment day –second prize in essay competition

In the essay competition on the occasion of World Environment Day, conducted by Karnataka State Pollution control Board regional office Udupi in association with the District Legal Aid Authority and Bharath Scouts & Guides,  Maithreyi  Rao of class 10 from St.Mary’s English Medium School Kannarpady Udupi has won the second prize.

Shivashankar B Amarannanavar -District and Session judge, Divakar Shetty –Deputy Director of Public Instruction Udupi and officials of Karnataka State Pollution control Board regional office Udupi were present at the prize distribution ceremony held at Govt.High School Volakadu on June 5th 2015.
