Udupi: St. Mary’s English School holds a grand book fair

Udupi: A grand book fair was held in the campus of St. Mary’s English Medium School Kannarpady on 4th January 2016.

It is the school’s initiative towards developing the reading habits among school students. Scholastic India Private Ltd Bangalore and Sita Book Center Udupi joined hands to shoulder this educative campaign. It was inaugurated by Rev. Fr Royson Fernandes , the Assistant Parish priest of Mother of Sorrows church Udupi.

A resolution was taken by the students to dedicate the year 2016 as a “Year of Reading”. The prize winners of various cultural and co-curricular activities of the present academic year were awarded with coupons to be exchanged for books as this is the practice for the past 15 years followed by the school.

A large number of books related to Science, Literature, Mythology, Art, and General Knowledge were displayed during the exhibition.

Principal Myrtle L F Lewis, Manjunath from Scolastic India Private Ltd, and Ramesh Prabhu from Sita Book Center were present on the occasion.
