Udupi: Burglars managed to loot Rs 2 lakhs from the Nandikoor branch of Syndicate Bank near Padubidri on the night of December 13.

Initial reports show that the burglars took advantage of security lapses at the branch. The branch did not have a security guard manning the night hours and no CCTV cameras were installed outside the branch premises. The burglars used a gas cutter to cut the metal rods of the back window and gained access to the bank.
