Udupi: Theft of Valuables Worth Rs 95,000 from Unoccupied House in Santoor

Udupi: The Padubidri police have received a complaint regarding a theft from the house in Santoor near Mudarangadi.

Since the house remains unused most of the time, the theft came to light only when an acquaintance of the owner happened to see the main door open on Sunday afternoon.

The house belongs to Harrison David of Santoor, who works as a technician at Deccan Industries in Baikampady industrial estate near Mangaluru. For convenience, he has been staying there for long. He keeps visiting the Santoor house only occasionally.

On receiving the information on the door being open from his friend Joseph, Harrison arrived in Santoor and checked the damage. The front door appeared to have been broken open with a handlebar.

A gold necklace of three sovereign gold, three earrings of half a sovereign and a pair of a sovereign worth and a ring of 3 gms have been taken away.

The police from Padubidri are pursuing the case.
